On 5th December, we held the 38th Annual General Meeting of the Mid Sussex History Group.  All Committee Members were duly elected and Michael Fairweather was appointed as a Committee Member.  The audited accounts were submitted and passed as accurate.  There was no other business raised and the meeting closed.

Pauline was presented with a voucher for her work as Membership Secretary and an orchid was given to Yvonne for dealing with chairs and tables. Last but not least, a bottle of wine was given to Michael who provides such a good service with teas and coffees throughout the year.

After the AGM, we were entertained by Tony Harris, an actor with a vast experience in many fields, including  that of Pantomime Dame.  He held us in thrall with many anecdotes of his life on the stage and his encounters with famous people throughout his career.  Nowadays, he is to be found addressing various groups who hire him to do so, as well as accepting any parts that may come his way!

After such a treat, sausage rolls, mince pies, wine and soft drinks were served. Jill, Fran and Michael were thanked for their efforts in bringing this occasion to fruition in such a faultless way.  All in all, a very good start to Christmas and we look forward to seeing everyone in 2024!
